Project Summary

The Potion Maker is a 2D card-based puzzle game designed for quick, engaging gameplay that can be played to pass the time or as a casual distraction. Players become potion makers, using their wits to combine ingredients and craft magical potions. The goal is to match and combine cards representing different potion ingredients to create powerful elixirs, complete quests, make money, and unlock new recipes.

The Potion Maker aims to reach a broad audience with its integration into the WeChat Mini Game platform. It leverages the platform's social features to enhance player engagement and retention. The game is designed to be lightweight, easy to pick up, and rewarding for short play sessions and longer strategic gameplay.

Core Mechanics

1. Card Matching and Combining:

   • Players are dealt cards, each representing a magical ingredient with unique properties.
   • The core mechanic involves dragging and dropping cards to combine ingredients. Successful combinations result in crafted potions, each with different effects.
   • Players must strategically decide which cards to combine to maximize their score and complete specific potion recipes.

2. Quest System:

   • Players are given quests that require crafting specific potions to get gold, which is needed to pass each game level.

3. Power-Ups and Special Cards:

   

   • Special cards, like the "High-Level Alchemist" card or "Buy 1 get 1" power-up, can be used to create unique combinations or double the output of a potion.
   • Players can earn or purchase these power-ups, adding a layer of strategy to the game.

4. Social Features (WeChat Integration):

   • Players can compete with friends via WeChat’s leaderboard system, gift potion ingredients, and challenge friends to beat their scores.
