Project Summary

Stages of Vision is a Virtual Reality (VR) film that explores human perception's evolution across different life stages. This VR experience uses the power of immersive storytelling to capture how our vision and imagination change from childhood to elderhood. Through a series of imaginative vignettes, players journey through the eyes of a child, an adult, and an elder, witnessing how the same world can be perceived in vastly different ways depending on one's age and life experiences.
The project aims to evoke nostalgia, reflection, and empathy by leveraging VR's immersive capabilities. It encourages players to appreciate the changing nature of perception and the beauty of every stage of life.

Core Mechanics
- Age-Based Visual Transitions:
- Players experience different stages of life (childhood, adulthood, elderhood) through immersive vignettes, with each stage featuring unique visual styles and filters.
- Childhood: The world is vibrant and exaggerated. Toys appear to come to life, parents are seen as giant teddy bears, and clouds become marshmallows. Objects are whimsical, oversized, and animated to reflect a child’s boundless imagination.
- Adulthood: The visuals shift to a more literal and practical worldview. Colors become muted, and the focus shifts to symbols of responsibility like houses, careers, and money. Life becomes a balancing act between dreams and reality.
- Elderhood: The world takes on a serene, nostalgic tone. Players see things with a sense of wisdom and gratitude, focusing on the essence of objects and people rather than their superficial appearances. Aged textures, soft lighting, and a sepia tone capture a sense of reflection and contentment.
- Interactive Exploration:
- At each stage, players can interact with their environment, triggering memories or flashbacks that offer deeper insights into the character’s life and experiences.
- To ensure the players understand the narrative, they must at least look at each interactive object and hear the dialogue to transition to the next scene.
Technical Stack
